Yesterday, for the second consecutive year, Relationship One won a Best Places to Work award from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. The honor couldn’t be more deserving. Sitting around the table at the ceremony with my colleagues (who are also some of my closest friends) caused me to reflect on my last three years of working at Relationship One.
My position at Relationship One was my first “real job” out of college. Sure, at that point I was grateful to have any job, but as I walked through the doors on a Tuesday morning in July, I didn’t know how truly lucky I was. Since then, the company has nearly quadrupled in size. It’s been an incredible journey to be apart of. Amazingly, it still feels the same as it did from that first day. The integrity, culture and values have remained constants, which can be incredibly challenging for companies that have experienced the type of growth that we have.
Relationship One’s mission is to inspire success. What I didn’t realize three years ago when I accepted the position was that this mission not only applies to the way Relationship One treats its clients but also carries over to the employees. The talented experts I’m surrounded by every day, the managers who lead their teams through and through, and the owners who make this company operate the way it does truly inspire me. I never would have predicted that my graphic design career would transform into a marketing career almost effortlessly, or that the passion I have for the industry would end up being almost obsessive.
So, I’ll say it. I love my job. I believe everyone should; it’s not that crazy of a thought! I realize that working for such an amazing company has always been my norm, but that certainly doesn’t mean I take it for granted. I’m excited to go to work every morning, even on Mondays. I’m thrilled to do awesome things from inside those four walls. I respect and enjoy my coworkers like they are my family. Working for a company where you genuinely feel appreciated and you know your worth is one of the most rewarding aspects of a job. I talk about my company so often that I have family members and friends who have legitimately asked me if I could hire them. Unfortunately, I don’t have that authority…yet. 😉
So, you ask, what makes Relationship One such an amazing place to work, and why in the world do I LOVE my job so much? Alright, I’ll let you in on the secrets in the best way I know how: a graphic.
