Occasionally, we use our blog to share Oracle Eloqua updates that will affect Eloqua users.
As of Sunday, September 3, Oracle Eloqua will officially enforce domain whitelisting settings. Details for this configuration can be found here.
The domain whitelisting security setting will affect the following configurations for each Eloqua instance:
- Test Tracking Scripts: Only affects newly added URLs
- WebCrawler: Only affects newly added URLs
- Form Integration: Only affects newly added URLs
- Form Redirect to Web Page: Affects existing URLs and newly added URLs
As a result of this enforcement, there are a couple of actions that your System Administrator will need to take to prevent any loss of functionality. Please reference the documentation from Oracle for complete details on this enforcement.
The most impactful whitelisting enforcement is related to the Form Redirect to Web Page processing steps, as this feature affects existing URLs.
Your Eloqua System Administrator has two options to manage this functionality:
- Oracle has provided an enable/disable option in the Domain Whitelisting setup (enabled by default), so tthe System Admin can disable the functionality for the Form Redirect to Web Page
- From the Oracle Eloqua home page, navigate to Settings. Under Users and Security, click Security, then Domain Whitelist Configuration. Select “Form Redirect Processing” from the dropdown menu and click “Disable Domain Whitelist”
- This must be done by September 3 to prevent restrictions on current form redirect steps.
- If your System Administrator would like to fully enable domain whitelisting for Direct to Web Page form processing steps, additional configuration is required to prevent any interruption of service.
- Create a Service Request in My Oracle Support for a list of domains that you are currently using in Eloqua. They will be able to provide a list for all your instances.
- Add those domains to the domain whitelisting settings before September 3, 2017.
