A little bit of this town goes a very long way. There should be no fear and loathing during Oracle Modern Marketing Experience as we return to Las Vegas for another adventure. We have spent the better part of the last year gearing up to what will be the biggest marketing event ever led by Oracle Marketing Cloud. This year is focused on helping our customers win — defining how modern marketing works for them so they can deliver a superior experience for their customers. My foray into modern marketing began when I joined a little startup called Eloqua back in 2007. Since then, it has been great to see the conversation change from only automation, to apps, mobile, social, programmatic and digital marketing as part of Oracle. The list below explains why I think this year’s Modern Marketing Experience is sure to win big.

Networking

There are way more opportunities for networking than ever before. We have a general welcome reception, an international reception, a women’s leadership event and “Birds of a Feather” lunches throughout the week. In the Marquee Ballroom, delegates also have a chance to meet our various partners of the Oracle Marketing Cloud, as well as our counterparts from sales and service!

Sessions

We have hundreds of sessions designed to provide information and inspiration to our attendees. Attendees will leave #MME16 with deeper insights as to how to weave web, social, mobile, display, content, advertising and personalization to delight and excite their customers.

Product Announcements

One of our keynotes is always dedicated to what’s on the roadmap. Customers leave this keynote salivating and hungry for access to the features that we discuss during this session, and this year will be no different. I can’t tell you how many hours goes into planning for this session, but it always excites and never disappoints.

The Markies

This year was arguably the most competitive Markies campaign in history. With over 350 submissions celebrating excellence in omni-channel marketing, we received over 80% more submissions than the previous year, and there are more new companies as finalists than in previous years. Over 160 Markie awards have been given out to customers over the past 10 years, and I’m fortunate to have attended every ceremony. As host of this year’s awards, I look forward to sharing insights as to how our customers are looking to the Oracle Marketing Cloud to delight their customers. We are also planning a “Meet the Finalists” event for customers to engage our award winners directly.

The Talent

We have a stellar lineup of CEOs, CMOs, celebrities, entertainment and leaders in digital marketing all taking part in #MME16. We are excited to have Ryan Deutsch, DVP Digital Marketing, Sears Holdings Company; Nick Cerise, CMO, Western Union; and Eric Reynolds, SVP & CMO, The Clorox Company joining Oracle GM and SVP of the Marketing Cloud Kevin Akeroyd on day one. CEO Mark Hurd also has a special message for delegates, and when you add Jay Bear, CEO of TYRA Beauty Tyra Banks, Zach King, and Troy Carter, it’s sure to impress.

Parties!

So many great parties, so little time. Our partners love our customers and have rallied to put together some awesome events around the conference to create new memories and energize customers. In addition, I can’t wait for the Markies celebration with Bastille as our headline band and Wednesday nights’ Customer Appreciation event featuring the Goo Goo Dolls.

Overall Atmosphere

The Modern Marketing Experience buzz is like no other. I start to get energized before the conference begins when I recognize all of the people whom I have worked with over the past 10 years. There will be anticipation and excitement over who will win a Markie Award, the product announcements, and catching up with old friends. Customers from around the world will be meeting members of their teams for the first time. You will also have access to Oracle Marketing Cloud’s entire leadership team to share your thoughts on how we can help you become the best marketer in the world. Every Oracle employee attending the event has the same job, which is to delight customers.

If you have not yet secured your pass to attend, this may be something that you will regret for the rest of the year. Roll the dice, make the trip, and I promise this year’s Modern Marketing Experience will be the best one yet!
