It goes without saying, technology is ever-evolving. We see it all the time, whether it’s the newest phone or computer software, or the endless string of apps you need to update. Yeah, it can be a pain in the butt, but take a second to think about it; how sweet is it that we can improve the technology of something we already have without buying a new one? Pretty sweet if you ask me.
We like to think of the Relationship One AppCloud doing the same for the Oracle Marketing Cloud Suite. We can quickly adapt to our clients’ changing needs and enhance the usability of their OMC products. We want to make sure their investment in the Oracle Marketing Cloud can be utilized as much as possible.
So what exactly is the AppCloud? It might be helpful to think of it as iTunes for marketing apps. It’s a central location where you can find information on all of our apps. Some of our apps are configured directly within the AppCloud itself and others are integrated with Oracle Eloqua (Cloud Actions, Decisions, Feeders, and Menus) and can be set up directly in your Campaign or Program Canvas.
Most of the concepts for our apps were brought to us by our clients looking to fulfill a certain need, but other times, our consultants will bring ideas directly to our development team. At Relationship One, everyone is encouraged to submit app ideas! Currently, we have over 50 apps in total, with more being developed every day.
One thing I was really interested in was the beginning-to-end process for each app as they are being created. The first step is a series of extensive discovery discussions which involve the client, development team, consultant(s), and the product owners. These discussions eventually lead to a list of criteria for the app — how it should look and function. Next, the team goes more in-depth and creates a “story” (like a big task) with a description, use case information, acceptance criteria, and mock-ups. Eventually these stories are queued up and prioritized, and voila — an app is born!
I hope this overview of our AppCloud and our app-creation process was helpful. We would love to help you with your app needs. If you have a specific need or even an idea for an app, contact us.
Stay tuned for more detailed posts on our specific apps coming soon. In the meantime, check out our AppCloud catalog.
