Change, a word synonymous with the New Year, carries with it a sense of optimism and excitement, at least for me. When I heard rumblings from Oracle Eloqua about an enhanced user experience (face-lift) coming in early 2016, my heart pattered with anticipation. Yes, another learning curve, but the last big UI change was the launch of E10, which was awesome.
I waited on pins and needles until it finally arrived, a sneak peek release of this new experience on Oracle Eloqua’s YouTube channel (yes, I’m a subscriber, and you should be, too!). In what’s being deemed as having a “fresher, lighter, brighter, more welcoming feel,” this enhancement will come with “no disruptions to your day-to-day use of the platform.” I repeat, “NO DISRUPTIONS.” I’m throwing it out there again in hopes that it will add magic buy-away dust to the inevitable issues that one can usually anticipate with a release.
I closed out my year on an exciting note with this overview. What better way to start yours?
Here’s my take on the top three features of this interface evolution:
1. Intuitive
The new UI will include a clean, responsive design that adjusts to your browser size. This is a very welcomed addition, especially for those of you who work with a dual-screen hack for comparison purposes. (Copy a live browser URL and paste in a new tab within same browser. Bam! You’re welcome).
2. Interactive
You can look forward to a truly interactive home screen (My Eloqua Page) that now incorporates real-time data/notifications, including:
- Trending data (new contacts, web activity, new visitors)
- Activity data (e.g. Bob edited “X” landing page 19 hours ago, Jane edited ”X” campaign yesterday). Great for administrative users!
- Customizable shortcuts to campaigns, emails, etc. Wha!? Awesome.
3. Disruption-Free
When it comes to deployment, you can expect NO DISRUPTIONS to your day-to-day. It will just auto-magically update post-rollover.
I’m truly excited for this and other things to come to Oracle Eloqua over the next year, including the enhanced (and expanded) AppCloud Framework, Program Canvas and the possibility of a new reporting tool.
