Chicago’s first World Series title since 1908 didn’t keep these faithful Eloquans from the last Chicago area Oracle Marketing Cloud User Group event of the year. Actually, the November 3rd event was our largest gathering in its history. It was so great to see so many new faces, and as always, familiar ones.

Warming up the group, updates and announcements were shared, covering upcoming events such as the ABM Ignite Tour on November 16th and Modern Marketing Experience in April 2017, new Inspired Marketing Podcasts with Experian and MongoDB, and OMC product updates including:

The lead off for the list of impressive guest presenters was Oracle Marketing Cloud’s Tracy Traeger, Principal Product Manager, who took us through the vision of the OMC stack and changes to look forward to in the coming months. Our active audience picked her brain. Thanks Tracy!

Batting second in the order was the dynamic duo of West Unified’s Jim McLemore, Senior Manager of Marketing Technology, and Assurance’s Sean Baker, Senior Marketing Technology Analyst, dishing up their recommendations for Lead Scoring. It was a proud moment knowing that these two connected on this topic through extending conversation from past user groups and thought it would be a great opportunity to give back to the group. Awesome job, gentlemen.

Cleaning up, Relationship One’s Tricia Duncan, Analytics Consultant, shared her thoughts and insights on Oracle Eloqua reporting—current, future and beyond. This included a list of comparative differences, pros, cons and suggested actions for users to be considering for the eventual change from the current Insight reporting engine to OBI. As mentioned, OBI for Oracle Eloqua is currently in closed availability. Users are strongly advised to request access by contacting their Account Manager/Director and submitting a case through Oracle Support.

If you want to refresh what you witnessed or unfortunately missed the event, review the Slideshares below. Please note, Oracle does not typically make available roadmap presentations. In lieu of Tracy’s slides, please visit the Know It area in Topliners to find product release information and best practice knowledge.

We would like to thank our hosts at Accenture, in particular Nelson Bernabe and Zahidull Islam, for arranging a large enough space to accommodate our ever-growing head count.

Our group will be taking a slight hibernation through the holidays, but please mark your calendars for our first user group of the new year on Thursday, February 23rd, 2017!

If you are not currently receiving invitations to the user group and would like to, click here to add yourself or a colleague to be included in upcoming events.
